Estate, fine anni Ottanta. Dopo anni di allenamenti duri e regole ferree, Felice, tredici anni e sulle spalle tutte le aspettative paterne, arriva finalmente ad affrontare i tornei nazionali di tennis.
Per prepararlo al meglio, il padre lo affida al sedicente ex campione Raul Gatti, che vanta addirittura un ottavo di finale al Foro Italico. Di partita in partita, i due iniziano un viaggio lungo la costa italiana che, tra sconfitte, bugie e incontri bizzarri, porterà Felice a scoprire il sapore della libertà e Raul a intravedere la possibilità di un nuovo inizio. Tra i due nasce un legame inatteso, profondo, irripetibile. Come certe estati, che arrivano una volta sola e non tornano più.

Summer, late 1980s. After years of hard training and strict rules, Felice, thirteen years old and carrying all his father’s expectations, finally arrives to face the national tennis tournaments.
To best prepare him, his father relies on the self-styled former champion Raul Gatti, who even boasts a round of 16 at the Foro Italico. From match to match, the two begin a journey along the Italian coast, which between defeats, lies and bizarre encounters will lead Felice to discover the taste of freedom and Raul to glimpse the possibility of a new beginning. Thus, in this strange summer, a deep and unexpected bond is born between the two.

Andrea Di Stefano (Roma, 1972) Attore e regista, si trasferisce, a New York, dove studia recitazione all’Actors Studio. Debutta in teatro e nel cinema in film indipendenti come Smiles, e The Pagan Book e Il principe di Homburg (1997). Tra i numerosi film successivamente interpretati, ricordiamo: Il fantasma dell’Opera (1998), Angela (2002), Cuore Sacro (2005), Nine (2009) and Vita di Pi (2016). Nel 2014 debutta alla regia con Escobar. L’ultima notte di Amore, uscito nel 2023, è il suo primo film italiano e la sua prima collaborazione con Pierfrancesco Favino.

The Last night of Amore, which came out in 2023, was his first Italian film and his first collaboration with Pierfrancesco Favino.
