Settembre 2007, Trieste. Fred, diciottenne svedese esuberante e coraggiosa, arriva in città per frequentare l’ultimo anno di un Istituto Tecnico. Si ritrova ad essere l’unica ragazza in una classe di soli maschi e catalizza l’attenzione di tutti, in particolare quella di tre amici. L’arrivo di Fred sconvolge la loro omogeneità, mettendo a dura prova la loro amicizia. Mentre ognuno di loro la desidera segretamente per sé, Fred vuole essere ammessa nel gruppo, ma le viene chiesto continuamente di sacrificare qualcosa di sé per diventare una di loro.

September 2007, Trieste, Northeast Italy. Fred, an exuberant and brave girl of seventeen, arrives in town and enrolls in her High School Senior Year. She finds herself as the only girl in an all-male class and quickly becomes the center of attention, especially for three friends. Fred’s arrival disrupts their homogeneity, putting their longstanding friendship to the test. As each of the guys secretly desires Fred for himself, she yearns to be accepted into the group and become one of them, but is asked to sacrifice more and more in order to belong.

Laura Samani (Trieste, 1989) Regista e sceneggiatrice, Samani si iscrive alla facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia dell’Università di Pisa. Nel 2012 consegue la laurea triennale in Discipline dello Spettacolo e della Comunicazione, con una tesi sulla serie televisiva Twin Peaks. L’estate seguente, dallo studio critico, decide di passare all’azione: gira il suo primo cortometraggio, che le permette accedere al corso di Regia presso il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma, dove si diploma nel 2015.
Ha debuttato alla regia nel 2022 con Piccolo Corpo, premiato ai David di Donatello come miglior Esordio.

Laura Samani (Trieste, 1989) A director and screenwriter, Samani enrolled in the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Pisa. In 2012, she obtained a three-year degree in Performing Arts and Communication Disciplines, with a thesis on the television series Twin Peaks. The following summer, she decided to move on from critical study to action: she shot her first short film, which gave her access to the Directing course at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, where she graduated in 2015.
She made her film debut in 2022 with Small body, for which she won the David di Donatello Prize for Best first feature.
