Guido pensava di avere una vita tranquilla e un rapporto felice con la fidanzata Chiara fino a quando un imprevisto sotto le lenzuola non arriva a turbare il suo mondo di certezze. È l’inizio della crisi e Guido è presto costretto fare le valigie e ad andarsene di casa. Incapace di stare da solo, chiede ospitalità nelle case dei genitori e degli amici più cari trovandosi a naufragare da un divano all’altro nell’insolito ruolo di testimone delle loro vite e dei loro grovigli amorosi.

Guido thought he had a quiet life and a happy relationship with his girlfriend Chiara until an unforeseen incident under the sheets arrives to upset his world of certainties. It is the beginning of the crisis and Guido is soon forced to pack his bags and leave home. Unable to be alone, he asks for hospitality in the homes of his parents, and closest friends, finding himself shipwrecked from one sofa to another in the unusual role of host to their lives and their love tangles. 

Duccio Chiarini (Firenze, 1977) ha scritto e diretto numerosi cortometraggi prima di presentare al Festival di Venezia 2011, il documentario Hit the Road, Nonna selezionato e premiato in molti festival. Nel 2014 presenta al Festival di Venezia, nella sezione Biennale College Cinema, il suo primo lungometraggio Short Skin – I dolori del giovane Edo, ottenendo una menzione speciale. L’ospite è il suo secondo film presentato al Festival di Locarno e TorinoFilmLab, dove ha vinto il Production Award.

Duccio Chiarini (Florence, 1977) wrote and directed several short films before presenting at the 2011 Venice Film Festival the documentary Hit the Road, Nonna, selected and awarded in many festivals. In 2014 he presented at the Venice Film Festival, in the Biennale College Cinema section, his first feature film Short Skin – I dolori del giovane Edo, obtaining a special mention. L’Ospite is his second film presented at the Locarno Festival and TorinoFilmLab, where it won the Production Award.
