Protagonisti del film sono un padre e sua figlia, Rocco e Lucia. La ragazza, muta dalla morte di sua madre, parla con il suo spirito e con il vento. L’uomo, molto legato alla sua terra, la cura e la difende ad ogni costo. Quando Rocco rifiuta l’offerta di depositare rifiuti tossici in un suo terreno in cambio di denaro, dovrà pagare le conseguenze delle sue azioni fuggendo insieme alla figlia attraverso l’ancestrale Lucania.

The film’s protagonists are a father and his daughter, Rocco and Lucia. The girl, mute since her mother’s death, speaks with her spirit and with the wind. The man, who is very attached to his land, looks after it and defends it at all costs. When Rocco refuses an offer to deposit toxic waste on his land in exchange for money, he will have to pay the consequences of his actions by fleeing with his daughter through the ancestral Lucania.

Gigi Roccati (1979) è regista, sceneggiatore e autore di diversi documentari. Nel corso di due anni in Afghanistan realizza La strada per Kabul, in onda con La storia siamo noi, premiato come Miglior Documentario di Guerra della Televisione Italiana da Rai e dal Ministero della Difesa. Pubblica il suo primo di libro di fotografia presso Contrasto Road to Kabul. Per sostenere produzioni innovative nel 2018 costituisce Ardita Film. Lucania è il suo secondo film.

Gigi Roccati (1979) is a director, screenwriter and author of several documentaries. During two years in Afghanistan he made La strada per Kabul (The road to Kabul), broadcasted with La storia siamo noi, which was awarded Best War Documentary of Italian Television by RAI and the Ministry of Defence. He publishes his first book of photography with Contrasto Road to Kabul. To support innovative productions in 2018 he forms Ardita Film. Lucania is his second film.
