Directed by Igort and based on his successful graphic novel of the same name, it is set in a rainy, nocturnal 1970s Naples. The film follows the story of Peppino Lo Cicero, played by un unrecognisable Toni Servillo, a \u201cguappo\u201d, a retired second-class camorra hitman, forced to return to the track after the murder of his son. This tragic event triggers a series of violent actions and reactions, but it is also the spark to start a new life. \u201cA film with great attention to detail that goes beyond the story and holds many welcome surprises\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n

Roberto San Pietro<\/b> (Milano, 1955) <\/strong>lavora al Laboratorio “Ipotesi Cinema” di Ermanno Olmi. Realizza cortometraggi e vari documentari tra cui Frazione Foppaluera, Brianza <\/i>(Premio Filmaker Milano, 1993). Nel 1998 il primo lungometraggio Tre storie <\/i>diretto con Piergiorgio Gay, presentato a Locarno, Torino, Annecy e NICE, ottenendo diversi premi. Dal 2004 in poi realizza 14 documentari in collaborazione con Annio Annese su opere liriche presentate al Teatro alla Scala di Milano. Con il film Il vegetariano <\/i>ha vinto il premio NICE Citt\u00e0 di Firenze.<\/p>\n

Roberto San Pietro (Milan, 1955) works at Ermanno Olmi\u2019s \u201cIpotesi Cinema\u201d workshop. He made short films and various documentaries, including Frazione Foppaluera, Brianza (Milan Filmmaker Award, 1993). In 1998 he made his first feature film, Tre Storie, directed with Piergiorgio Gay, which was presented at Locarno, Turin, Annecy and N.I.C.E., and won several awards. From 2004 onwards he made 14 documentaries in collaboration with Annio Annese on operas presented at La Scala in Milan. With the film Il Vegetariano he won the N.I.C.E.
