This delicate exploration of a gay relationship torn apart by the intrusion of a third party offers, at the same time, a sensitive look at the difficulty immigrants face in becoming integrated into Italian society. On their way home from a holiday abroad, Anna (Maria De Medeiros) and Mara (Antonia Liskova) realize a young Moroccan man has managed to hide in their car to illegally cross the border into Italy. At first unsure what to do, the couple finally agree to take Anis (Mounir Ouadi) home with them. Gradually the boy inserts himself into the women’s lives and, for a brief moment, the three manage to help and support each other in an unusual, emotionally intricate relationship. But this precarious balance is short-lived: Anis loses his job and finds himself rejected by Mara, with whom he has fallen in love, while Anna is forced to watch her domestic and professional arrangements fall to pieces.
