Libya, 1911: an Arab with western sympathies receives death threats from the
Turks. Saved by the Italian troops, he marries a christian woman. This curious
film by Mario Camerini, defends the Italian right to have colonies. In the
thirties, Camerini was one of the most famous directors of comedies, the genre
known as “white telephone” comedies.
