During World War Two, two illiterate farmers, father and son, ask a shrewd postman to help them to read the letter sent by the son (and grandson) from the Russian war front. Sophie Chiarello 
The daughter of a couple of immigrants from South Italy, she moved to Italy after High school. Presently she lives moving between Milan and Rome (and the Salento region). She began her career working with Gabriele Salvatores, Marco Risi and Edoardo Winspeare. In 2002 her short Ficarigna obtains prizes in many festivals. In 2005 she directed and produced A Wire Around the World with Agidi Productions.
