Constructed like a thriller, Gas takes the viewer into a world that is cruel yet at same time both touching and poetic. From unstable backgrounds, in which family no longer has any value but is just a duty, six young people, between twenty and thirty, bonded through their common feelings of disenchantment, are veritable time-bombs, and we see them gradually sink into a moral quagmire. They look for a victim and take him into an abandoned building to vent their confused feelings on him through a series of sadistic games. Luca, the main protagonist, however is different and he joined the group only recently with a very special purpose which is revenge. Luciano Melchionna 
He graduates in Acting at the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica “Silvio d'Amico”, Rome, in 1989. He worked for many years with important people of the world of theatre. In the meantime he alternated acting activity with direction and writing. His first play, Rimozione forzata, was mentioned for the IDI Prize. The play Gas won the audience prize for best direction and the prize “Giovani Protagonisti” at the Premio Riviera d'Ulisse linked to the Festival del Teatro Italiano. Gas soon became a screenplay, and Melchionna directs his first film. He has also worked for television, acting in various fictions.
