Year: 2000. Running Time: 90’
Alberto and Natalino are two old men now who once fought together in the Partisan movement in the Piedmont region with Silurino, another comrade. Natalino lives alone in the mountains while Alberto, a widower, lives in Turin but spends his summers in a senior residence. There he meets and befriends Umberto, an elderly man confined to a wheelchair, and from this moment on the past starts weaving in and out of the present in a string of flashbacks. During the war, most members of their little group of partisans were wounded. Alberto remained with the wounded while Natalino went to find help. In the course of his conversations with Umberto about the war years, Alberto comes to the terrible realization that Umberto is none other than the Fascist officer who ordered the deaths of Silurino and the others soldiers. He contacts Natalino and after telling him of this discovery, the two old men decide to avenge the deaths of their companions by killing Umberto, despite the fact that he is paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair...
